Biratenu — the Jerusalem Beer Center — is a bar and brewery at 4 Shamai Street, upstairs from McDonald's, with Tzohar kashrut and closed on Shabbat. It was founded in 2015 and serves beers brewed on the premises alongside craft beers from Israel and around the world. You can order a tasting tray, and there is food such as hummus. An evening here usually costs ₪50–100 per person. Since the end of 2025 the bar has belonged to the 02 Jerusalem Night Cooperative, a cooperative of several hundred members that bought it together with two other city-centre bars. Open Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday from 17:00, with happy hour until 20:00, and Monday and Wednesday from 20:00 — until the last customer leaves. The entrance is up the stairs to the right of McDonald's.
