Duvdevan Bakery is a long-running bakery, open since 1980, at 81 Etz HaChaim Street in Machane Yehuda Market, kosher mehadrin under the Jerusalem Rabbinate. The breads and pastries are baked on the premises: sourdough loaves, challahs for Shabbat, Jerusalem-style rugelach, yeast pastries and meringues, and bourekas — cheese and spinach, for example. The bakery is in the covered part of Etz HaChaim, near the market entrance from Agripas Street, and the smell reaches you before the shop does. Open Sunday to Friday from the morning, closed on Shabbat. Credit cards are accepted, and pickup is available.
