Basher Fromagerie is a cheese shop at 53 Etz HaChaim Street in Machane Yehuda Market — the first branch of the Basher chain, with hundreds of European cheeses. It started with the family's workers' restaurant in the market. Eli Basher closed it after travelling through markets and villages in Europe, and with his brother Dudi opened a deli of cheeses, wines, spreads, Italian pasta and specialty breads, alongside products from Israeli dairies. You can eat a sandwich or a cheese platter with a glass of wine on the spot, and a hosting platter for up to seven people, ordered in advance, starts at about ₪400. Open Sunday 07:30–18:00, Monday and Tuesday until 19:00, Wednesday and Thursday until 20:00, and Friday 06:30–16:30; closed on Shabbat. The entrance is accessible, but there are no restrooms at the branch.
