The Cocoa Forest

The Cocoa Forest (Ya'ar HaKakao) is a Jerusalem boutique chocolate shop in the covered part of Machane Yehuda market, at 56 Etz Chaim Street, with mehadrin kashrut from the Jerusalem Rabbinate (chalav Yisrael). The brand was founded by Yaara Kalmanovitz, a former lawyer. The shop sells chocolate bars, pralines you pick one by one to taste, chocolate-coated stones, and coated sweets bought by weight in whatever quantity you want. There is also a vegan selection. To drink on the spot there is fresh hot chocolate, a chocolate chaser and a liqueur shake, plus a chocolate tap that goes with vanilla ice cream. Open Sunday to Thursday 11:00–19:00, and on Friday from 09:00 until about an hour and a half before Shabbat. You can taste before you choose.
