McDonald's Orion at 4 Shamai Street, a few steps from Ben Yehuda, sits in the front of the historic Orion Cinema building. It is a non-kosher branch that is open on Shabbat. The Orion Cinema ran here from 1938 to 1996, in a half-cylinder building whose interior was inspired by Radio City Music Hall in New York, with 1,400 seats at its peak. The branch opened in the front of the building in 1996, stood empty for several years, and came back in 2019 without a kashrut certificate and open on Saturdays. Open Sunday to Thursday 10:30–22:30 and Saturday 11:00–22:30. There is outdoor seating, table service and delivery, and the menu includes a gluten-free item and a vegan item. The branch is accessible and has a hearing loop, but there is no organised car park nearby.
