A taqueria in the city centre, on Shlomtzion HaMalka. An open kitchen behind a long prep counter, papel picado strung across the ceiling, a wall of painted portraits and a VIVA MEXICO wall. Outside, under umbrellas, picnic tables and brightly painted benches against a printed forest mural. At lunchtime there is a queue at the counter, and sometimes a DJ playing a live set between the tables. Tacos of brisket, slow-cooked beef ribs, marinated chicken, beer-battered cod and a vegan tofu-and-vegetable version; alongside them the specials of the day — al pastor, carne asada, lengua and tuna ceviche. Also rice and beans with guacamole, and tortilla chips.
