The Monster Pub

The neighbourhood pub of Kiryat Yovel, at Tzchila 8 — it started as a project by a few enthusiasts and grew into a home for local culture in the south of the city. The pub runs as a cooperative: members operate it on a volunteer basis and not for profit, and a culture committee drawn from those members builds the programme — live sets by local musicians, stand-up nights and talks. The stage is close, the crowd knows one another, and that is exactly the point.
