Tower of David

The Tower of David Museum sits in the citadel beside Jaffa Gate and tells the story of Jerusalem across more than 3,000 years. The permanent exhibition has ten galleries with interactive displays and archaeological finds, and the Phasael Tower lookout gives a 360-degree view of the city. The entrance ticket covers the galleries, the lookout and the citadel courtyard. Two sound-and-light shows are projected on the citadel walls in the evenings, the Night Spectacular and the King David show. Each runs about 40 minutes, needs no language, and suits children from age three; a show ticket is ₪69 for an adult and ₪59 for a child. The entrance is to the right of the plaza at the end of Mamilla Avenue, by the three red flags with the museum's name. The nearest car park is Karta. The museum is open on Shabbat.
