The Burnt House

A dwelling from the end of the Second Temple period, burned in the destruction of Jerusalem in 70 CE. The excavations uncovered ritual baths, water cisterns and many stone vessels — evidence that the household, of the priestly Katros family, kept the laws of purity. It is presented today as a museum with a sound-and-light show.
