The residents of Catania claim that every household in the village has someone with a disability to avoid paying taxes. Now that government inspectors are coming for a visit, everyone panics—with absurd results. Debut film by director Oana Măşoiu, this original and beautiful work was shot in the Apuseni Mountains and captures the atmosphere of a storybook village. Through eccentric characters and human solidarity, Măşoiu crafts a sharp satire of senseless bureaucracy that's both biting and thoroughly entertaining.
