The Harvest Festival at Ein Yael
Tuesday, September 29, 2026
09:30–16:30
Ein Yael, עין יעל, נחל רפאים, ירושלים
₪99
Three Chol HaMoed Sukkot days of harvest-season crafts at Ein Yael in the Refaim valley. Gather in the sukkah, prepare the mud houses for the rains and join family workshops led by the site's artists: weaving with lulav fronds with Michal Raz, traditional pottery with Zvi Gefen, spinning and weaving in the weaving house with Shuri Provizor, natural dyes with Yulia Pitia, natural winter plaster with Shlomi Mantzura, grandma's remedies (herbal oil, healing-herb teas and a foraging walk), fire-baked pitta with wheat and barley sowing, olive picking and curing, a mosaic workshop and archaeological theatre with an actor. New this year: the Roman reconstruction area opens next to the Roman villa, with iron smithing, Roman-style glass beads, woodworking and tanning. Little ones get "Paotteva", a play area built from natural materials, and the "Ushpizin" area has a guest sukkah and a mehadrin-kosher food stand with taboon pizza, salads, and hot and cold drinks. Coupon code WTS10 gives 10% off tickets. Price: ₪99 per ticket (₪85 early bird until 15.9). Family of 5 — ₪425, each additional participant ₪75 (immediate family, with ID). Wheelchair users ₪60 with a certificate. A ticket is required from age 3 and gives entry on one of the three festival days of your choice. No entry without a ticket; tickets at the gate only if space remains. Full refund if the Home Front Command cancels. Getting there: Ein Yael is in the Refaim valley, by Malha Mall and opposite the Biblical Zoo ("Ein Yael" on Waze). Free parking for visitors at the entrance. Buses: 363 to Nahal Refaim/Yitzhak Moda'i, or 14, 17, 18 and 31 to Malha. Partly accessible: an accessible path leads to the main festival areas, the archaeological site, the toilets and the food stand, and most of the site suits strollers.
