Her world is shaken in an instant when she receives in the mail compromising photos of her beloved husband Leizer and discovers that he is being blackmailed by a local gang. The discovery upends the couple's lives and sends Batti on a journey of awakening, self-discovery and a search for emotional and womanly freedom. The play is based on a screenplay by Mindy Ehrlich, who grew up in an ultra-Orthodox community in Jerusalem; it became an acclaimed, award-winning film directed by Nir Bergman. The production brings a rare ultra-Orthodox female voice to the stage and exposes the human complexity behind the walls of silence. Running time: an hour and a half, no intermission
