"A play with songs about a not-so-romantic triangle: two sour men and a sour woman who sour on life," in Hanoch Levin's own description of the play. Itamar Yaakobi and David Leidental, two old friends, have sunk for years into a life of small comforts: salted fish, weak tea and board games, every evening on the same balcony. It seemed they would go on like this to the end of their days, until one day Yaakobi gets up, wrecks the friendship and heads out to finally start "living". On his feverish wanderings through the streets, Yaakobi runs into Ruth Shahash, a pianist with a small life and big dreams, and so the dismal triangle of Yaakobi, Shahash and Leidental becomes tangled in a ridiculous and heartbreaking struggle over dignity, love and happiness. The play, considered one of Hanoch Levin's great classics and a forerunner of his unique artistic language, moves between wild humor and delicate poetry, and probes like a wound at one piercing question: how does one become happy? The show contains coarse language and is for ages 15 and up Running time: about 1 hour and 40 minutes (no intermission) First performance: 15 November 2025 Credits Set design Noam Weiss Costumes Michal Glazer Musical direction, arrangements and playing Anna Binyamin Playing Inbal Rosenhaus Lighting Rotem Elroy Movement Maya Vitlin Vocal coaching Ricki Bogtin Production manager Yehudit Katz Assistant director Tal Levi Cast Gal Zak Shahar Netz Nitzan Levartovsky
