"The Bible on the Psychologist's Couch," a new series Psychological issues as reflected in the Book of Books Lecturer: Dr. Yael Doron These stories illuminate issues in the relationships between individuals, couples, family members and the whole community, and it turns out they still touch all of us today. What can we learn from the stories of siblings in the Bible, from Cain and Abel through Jacob and Esau to Joseph and his brothers, about parental favoritism, sibling rivalry, fair and less fair competition in the family, and parents' responsibility for their children's difficulties? Dr. Yael Doron is a rehabilitation psychologist and group analyst who directs the "Couples Institute" in Ramat Gan, which specializes in therapy for individuals, couples and groups around relationships. She is a faculty member at Peres Academic Center and the Israel Institute of Group Analysis, and lectures and teaches at the Mefarshim Institute of the Academic Center Tel Aviv-Yafo. She lectures to the general public on psychology and relationships, leads workshops on personal and professional relationships in organizations and companies in the public and private sectors, and serves as an expert on the TV show "Married at First Sight" (Keshet 12).
