About LiveJLM: how the Jerusalem events calendar is built

LiveJLM (in Hebrew, ירושלים על מלא — "Jerusalem in full") is an events calendar and leisure guide for Jerusalem, rebuilt every day from the sources of the events themselves: the websites of the city's halls, museums and producers, and the ticketing systems that sell their shows. As of 21 October 2026 it lists 765 events in the next 30 days, alongside a guide to 601 venues, 474 places to eat and drink and 88 attractions.

Where the information comes from

  • 88 automatic sources — the event calendars of halls, museums, cultural centres and community centres. A collection round runs 5 times a day, and each source is read in it once a day or every few days, depending on how often it changes.
  • Ticketing systems: for some halls, events are imported straight from their ticketing system's data, with the time and price shown there.
  • Venues and producers who send us their events, and events readers pass on to us — each one checked against a source before it goes up.
  • On the ground: opening hours, menus and kashrut certificates of restaurants and cafés are photographed on site and checked again against the official source where there is one.

How every listing is checked before it is published

  • An event read from a source page is taken in only if most of the words in its name appear on that page.
  • A date already past, or more than a year and a half away, is rejected as a misreading.
  • Online-only events, and events whose venue name or address names another city, are filtered out.
  • An event without a known start time is kept off the lists until the time is confirmed.
  • When the same event arrives from two sources, we identify it and merge it into one listing.
  • When the time at the source differs from ours, the listing is flagged for review rather than changed automatically.

Where AI is used

AI systems read the source pages, extract the event details from them, and translate part of the content into English. The checks above are the control on that work: they reduce mistakes, and do not rule them out entirely. Maayan, the guide who answers questions on the site, is also an AI-generated character.

What we are not

We are an events calendar, not a producer or a ticket seller. Tickets are bought from the official seller, and the seller's page is the binding source for the time, price and terms — worth a look before you head out. Some ticket links are affiliate links and we may earn a commission on them, which is not charged to you separately. It does not affect what appears on the calendar and in search, or their order; Maayan, the site's guide, gives a slight preference to events sold through partners. The binding rules are those in our terms of use.
