Odem — International Puppet Festival

Thursday, August 20, 2026

17:00–17:50

תיאטרון החאן, גן הפעמון, דרך חברון, ירושלים

Miriam, an artist and mother of three, invites her younger sister Tamar, pregnant for the first time, to look with her at the women of their family: Grandma Sarah, who painted her nails gold and took pride in being multi-orgasmic, and Grandma Pnina, who crept into the kibbutz children's house at night just to tuck her children in. The sisters ask what gets handed down and what can finally stop being passed on — and as the birth approaches, try to rework the material their family's women are made of to leave room for choice, perhaps for the daughter not yet born. Visual theatre built from personal stories, a great deal of humour, puppets and clay sculpture. Part of the International Puppet Festival.
