Beit Hanssen

Come and learn the story of Jerusalem's leprosy hospital, built at the end of the 19th century under the name Jesus Hilfe. The compound served as a refuge and as a place of isolated care for leprosy patients. The hospital was built and run on donations from Germany and managed by the deaconess sisters, who cared for patients of every faith. With the founding of the state the compound became a government hospital.
